Thunderbolt & Lightfoot / Movie [VHS]

Thunderbolt & Lightfoot / Movie [VHS] Overview

Jeff Bridges actually corralled an Oscar nomination for his spirited, oddball performance in this genre crime story, directed by first-timer Michael Cimino who (a short two films later) would bring down a studio with Heaven's Gate. Clint Eastwood plays a bank robber par excellence with a flair for explosives who is being hunted by his former partners, who think he has their loot from their last job. Bridges is his eager apprentice and sidekick, who helps him escape; when Eastwood finally makes peace with his hunters, Bridges convinces them to try a daring robbery--but things inevitably go awry. The relationship between Eastwood and Bridges is both funny and touching in this, one of Eastwood's better post-Dirty Harry efforts. --Marshall Fine

There are really a lot to enjoy this movie, a caper film fast and good running some characters well developed and has some very nice quality. I love me some Jeff Bridges, an actor I find, at the head of the pack, then tagging his name, nothing will get my attention. I just saw The Good, The Bad and The Ugly "for the first time, and so the idea of another picture Eastwood has actually been accepted (do not think he's the greatest actor, but some of his films have ratherEntertainment).

Overall, "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" is a film very funny.

The film tells the story of the thief former preacher on the run from his former business partners who believe he stole the loot from their last robbery. During the filming of Flight runs in Lightfoot, a young free spirit who has set a way with the ladies and his thoughts on learning a thing or two from Thunderbolt. When they finally meet up with Thunderbolt's former partnersdecide to go together in a robbery only dangerous to their plans, as they have failed the job done a turn for the worse.

The film is quite well designed, with clever dialogue and development of interesting characters and some surprising sentimentality that I did not expect, especially since the movie came to an end.

The Council is the biggest highlight film, both Eastwood and Bridges pulled a great performance. I am a bit 'over Oscar nomination for bridges, not confusedbecause they do not deserve it, but because it fell into the category of support. Feels like a total co-financing of lead, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm not always the best judges when it comes to the category of placement. He steals the scene, Lightfoot, that the natural charm and courage to make sure. I loved every minute of his performance. Eastwood was really distressing, because it is almost always, but there is another level of people here that I do not often see in him.

George Kennedy is atad over the top here, but whatever.

I was shocked to see that this has come from Michael Cimino, simply does not work, how he feels, but I guess not all movies can be dominant like "The Deer Hunter." This is a great little movie popcorn. There's nothing spectacular, but it's really fun and is a film that you will not regret spending the time and / or money to observe.

Maybe the applause is not "thunder", but actually I liked the pun.
