Sunday's Children [VHS]

Customer Reviews

Sunday children is one of the most insightful film about parent-child I've ever seen. The camera follows the activities of Pu, a holiday young Swedish boy in the country with his family. Pu father is a minister who is struggling to give meaning to his life and to reconcile with his wife, who finds it increasingly difficult to live with him.

PU is a particularly observant child who sees and feels the suffering of people and animals and thinks that God is a bad, canmany terrible things happen in this world. In a scene observed Pu, its sides like a farmer with a big ax death of calf. Scenes like these are painful to see how most often strained relations with his family.

Pooh decides to stay with his father in the church for their services. On the ferry Pu sits on the edge of the boat and the father found him and punched him repeatedly in the face, because Pooh has been jeopardized. We know what father and sonfeel, and know that they are both right with excitement. This example shows how complicated this one movie and also the truth of what it is.

We find no easy answers in children on Sunday. Life is full of suffering, and some of the pain comes from our illusions about how we deal with our parents. Pu accused the father of some of his discontent, both as a child and later as an adult. The viewer knows that Pu is wrong, but it is not right. CompassionCompassion are independent of right and wrong and we can just empathize with the suffering we see in others. In late father is dying and Pu Pu is able to forget the past and forgive, in the present.

Sunday children goes far beyond entertainment. E 'cinema truth, which holds a mirror to life and leave us a bit' of truth about ourselves and our own families. The truth, which shows this film is that, as we want to be forgiven, we must be prepared toforgiven.

Many viewers who have not seen Fanny and Alexander Bergman has found the film disturbing and fascinating.
